Cattle Industry Development Council

Elected Producer Volunteers

The Cattle Industry Development Council (CIDC) is the group of producer volunteers elected by industry organizations to administer the CIDC check-off, the Beef Cattle Industry Development Fund and the Horn Levy. Council meets quarterly to review operations and consider funding applications. Currently serving on Council are:

Beef Cattle Industry Development Fund

The BCIDFund is managed by British Columbia cattle producers sitting on the Cattle Industry Development Council.  The mission statement about managing the fund is "To manage the Beef Cattle Industry Development Fund in a way that will effectively enhance the profitability, viability, sustainability of the beef cattle industry in British Columbia for the short, medium and long term."

 

Horn Levy Fund of BC

Cattle industry associations elect representatives to sit on the Horn Levy Committee. In addition to these elected representatives, one ex-officio member from the Ministry of Agriculture and Lands and one from Ownership Identification Inc. may attend committee meetings along with the Committee secretary. This committee reports to the Cattle Industry Development Council. Industry associations are invited to elect representatives to serve on the Horn Fund Committee as follows:
